La Coopérative funéraire du Témiscamingue vous informe du décès de Madame Joan Rex conjointe de Keith Jones de Témiscaming.  Elle est décédée le 28 juin 2023, avec son mari à ses côtés, au CHSLD de l'Hôpital de Témiscaming à l’âge de 87 ans.

Elle est née à Petries, N.L, le 23 août 1935 et a grandi à Corner Brook N.L. avec ses parents, Harry Rex et Anna Gould.

Elle a obtenu son diplôme de l'école d'infirmières de l'hôpital St-Claire Mercy à St-Johns N.L en 1956. Elle a été infirmière à St-John's N.L. et à Halifax N.S. et elle a déménagée à Montréal pour travailler comme agent de bord chez Trans Canada Air Lines (maintenant Air Canada). Elle déménage à Témiscaming en 1960 et a été infirmière à l'Hôpital de Témiscaming jusqu'à sa retraite en 1995.

Elle laisse dans le deuil son mari de 63 ans, Keith Jones. Elle laisse également dans le deuil son frère Gérard Rex (Jean) et sa sœur Sr. Kathleen Rex, tous deux de Corner Brook N.L., son beau-frère Brian Jones (Geraldine) de Témiscaming et sa belle-sœur Dre Anne Jones Poli (Ed) de Nanaimo B.C., ainsi que plusieurs nièces et neveux qui aimaient beaucoup tante Joan.

Elle est partie rejoindre son frère Robert Rex (feu Shirley) et sa sœur Helen Rex Jones (Brian) ainsi que sa belle-sœur Maris Jones Gagné (feu Roger).

La famille invite parents et amis à se joindre à elle pour se recueillir le 12 juillet 2023 à l'église Ste-Thérèse de Témiscaming de 10 h à 11 h. Les funérailles seront célébrées à 11h et l'inhumation suivra au cimetière du même endroit.

Vos marques de sympathies peuvent se traduire par un don à la société canadienne Alzheimer.

La famille tient à remercier les médecins, les infirmières et surtout le personnel des soins de longue durée pour les soins et l'amour qu'ils ont témoignés à Joan pendant son séjour.

Joan Marie Rex Jones R.N. 1935 – 2023

Joan passed away on June 28th. 2023, with her husband by her side, at the LongTerm Care facility at the Temiscaming Hospital.

She was born in Petries, NL, August 26, 1935 and raised in Corner Brook NL. by her parents, Harry Rex and Anna Gould.

She graduated from St-Claire Mercy Hospital school of nursing in St-Johns N.L in 1956.  She nursed in St-John’s N.L. and in Halifax N.S. and then moved to Montreal to work as a flight attendant with Trans Canada Air Lines (now Air Canada).  She moved to Temiscaming in 1960 and began nursing at the Temiscaming Hospital until she retired in 1995.

She leaves behind her husband Keith Jones of 63 years of marriage. Also left to mourn her are her brother Gerard Rex (Jean) and her sister Sr. Kathleen Rex both of Corner Brook N.L. She also leaves behind her brother in-law Brian Jones (Geraldine) of Temiscaming and her sister in-law Dr. Anne Jones Poli (Ed) from Nanaimo B.C. as well as many nieces and nephews who loved Aunt Joan dearly.

She is predeceased by her brother Robert Rex (Shirley deceased) and her sister Helen Rex Jones (Brian) as well as her sister in-law Maris Jones Gagne (Roger deceased), many nieces and nephews who loved aunt Joan dearly.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on July 12, 2023 at St.Theresa church in Temiscaming from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.  The funeral service will follow. Interment will take place at the Temiscaming cemetery.

If desired a donation to the Canadian Alzheimer society would be appreciated.

The family would like to express their thanks to the doctors, nurses and especially the staff of the Longterm Care for their care and love shown to Joan during her stay.
